Good news - we just got a call from our Agency. Our birthmother is flying out tomorrow and everything is a go. She wants this to be a closed adoption. So we will not be meeting her and will not retain contact after the baby is placed with us.
So now we just need to get to Utah and wait to have a Baby on Monday! :)

Shopping or Packing??
Well today was supposed to be about packing all of our stuff! Then we got an idea to go buy a new camera (don't really need one! - but thought a nice little one for my purse or Rob's pocket would be cool) Finally found the camera I wanted (cute purple one) and they didn't have any in stock! UGH!! We ended up buying more stuff for the trip and shopped until 4 o'clock!
Oh boy! Time to do some packing and then head to the neighbors for a great new years party! This will be our last new years without kids! Time to party it up one last time!!
Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New year!
- Better get packing!! -

Babies have a mind of their own!
Just when you think you have a plan.... things change! Thankfully everything appears to be working out.
Our original BM went into labor on Tuesday in Maryland, due to that we were not able to proceed with the adoption due to maryland laws. Thankfully another situation presented itself. Our new BM is scheduled to deliver this MONDAY!! Oh my! I had a day to get work all wrapped up for maternity leave and we are spending today getting clothes washed and packed and making lists of things we need to remember to do! We fly out on Sat!!
I am praying everything works out and we bring our sweet baby home next week. Everyone keeps telling me that things happen for a reason and that the baby that is meant for your home will come into your home. I sure hope so!
I feel bad for our other BM. I was already attached and I wanted to help her through this. I hope her new match will also feel that way and that things work out for her too.
Rob is busy trying to figure out what we should name our sweet angel - this is fun. It's like having a VERY short pregnancy! you get to do all the fun stuff RIGHT AWAY!
More to come - I will blog as we are out in Utah!

Christmas Wish Granted~
Well my Christmas wish was answered this year! We got a call on December 21st telling us that we had been picked by a birthmother! What a great reason to start a blog right?
My husband Rob and I have been trying to have children for 7+ years. It is an unbelievable feeling to think in just a few weeks our dreams of becoming parents will really have come true.
Our BM is scheduled for a C-section on Jan 18th. We can't wait to meet her. I am looking forward to having an open adoption and sharing the joys of raising a child with her. I already love both the BM and baby so much! I am in the process of knitting a scarf to give our BM when we meet. I really hope she likes it.
I can't imagine what she is going through and really want to be there for her. I know it sounds weird right because I want a baby more then air but I also want to be their for this young mother and let her know that I will always talk highly of her, I will pass on her beliefs and traditions to our daughter and I will always let our child know how much she loves them.
My future posts will be about preparing for Baby and the emotional rollercoaster I am sure we are in for.
